The Value of the Mona Lisa

I was watching a video that pondered what is the value of art in comparison to human life. The man said something to the effect that he would not trade 1 human life for the Mona Lisa, all the paintings in the Louvre, nor for the Louvre itself.
I think this is cowardly. I would gladly give my life for the Mona Lisa. What value is the average person compared to the collective benefit that that painting creates? People die for much less. Would you rather die protecting the Mona Lisa or cancer or a heart attack or whatever naturally kills a person? I think that painting could be worth 1,000 people. You could probably tell how many human lives it's worth by seeing how many people would volunteer to sacrifice their life for it. Saying none is wrong and cowardly.
